The Sundance Episodic Makers Lab is designed to identify exciting independent voices who are taking the initiative to produce their own episodic content.
During the lab, we participated in creative workshops , simulated writers’ rooms, and advisor feedback sessions that not only improved our pilots, but also prepared us for a career in episodic content.
My half hour dramedy, GOOD BOY, was one of eight projects selected for the Episodic Makers Lab. It was also the only project selected that centers on an Asian American narrative with Asian American leads.
GOOD BOY is about a young Korean American who dreams of launching his own streetwear brand, but struggles with dysfunctional relationships and conflicting family values, forcing him to question if doing it for the culture is really worth the hype.
